We at Blood:Water Mission could not continue our fight in bringing relief to the injustices our African brothers and sisters face if it were not for the support and movement of people here in the U.S.  Recently we heard a story that made our hearts swell with hope, as it is a hopeful thing to see the hearts of others called to action.

Mix 11 languages, 18,000 miles, 7 years, 3 continents, 17 times zones, 14 countries, 36 million steps, one man, a backpack and a dream and you get The Earth Expedition.  A mans dream to walk the worlds continents on nothing but two feet. Since 2006 Daren Wendell has been planning, saving, reading, researching, and training for The Earth Expedition; a dream that he have committed many years to accomplish. “I am drawn to challenge and what people say I cannot do.  I’m attracted to risk; I’m attracted to the unexpected, attracted to new people, new languages, new cultures, and new places. People always ask me the question Why?"

Middle Tennessee advocates for clean water had a chance to join a national awareness-raising bike ride Saturday, if only for a couple of hours.

The longer trip began with 18 people on June 10 in Los Angeles to bring attention to the need for cleaner water in sub-Saharan Africa. As the Ride:Well Tour team made its stop in Nashville, riders participated in a city ride, giving locals a chance to participate and help raise funds.

With the combination of the Ride:Well Tour cyclists and about 100 local cyclists, the local goal of $10,000 was met and exceeded.  (story continued)

Thanks to all of you who we saw out during the "Christmas Offerings Tour" with Third Day and Jars of Clay.  Nearly $75,000 was raised for Blood:Water Mission during the 12- City "Christmas Offerings Tour." At least 12 entire African villages will now have clean water as a result of money raised during the 12-city tour which saw sell out crowds.

Apparantly Walla Walla means water in a language other than English.  I have no clue which one or if that is even actually true.  But it is a good attention getter when you are working for a group that is trying to provide clean water for people who don't have access to it.

Once again in the skies, headed toward Denver, Colorado, after a quick morning flight from Nashville, TN to Atlanta, GA. It is day 4 of our adventure and David, Joe, and I are headed to Denver, so we are strategically positioned to pick-up our trip vehicle, a Dodge Durango that awaits us Monday morning in Colorado Springs, CO.
