Micaela's Party

micaela"I have always had a heart for Africa. For my 13th birthday I decided to invite my friends and family to participate in raising money for clean water in Africa. The event was such a blessing and my hope is that this money will truly save the lives of African families by providing clean water."

 Birthday

Micaela's Party

Micaela Wood adopted the 2 Weeks of Sacrifice project as the theme for her thirteenth birthday after participating in a similar project with her church in Cypress, CA.  All fifty of her guests were asked to make water their only beverage and save the money they would have spent on sodas on other drinks for two full weeks before the party.  Then instead of giving gifts her guests were asked to donate the money they saved to "Micaela's H2O for Africa" fund.   At the end of the party, Micaela ended up with three plastic water barrels filled with change, checks, and envelopes filled with generosity.

"My heart has always been with Africa, so after I had raised $500, it was up to me to find a program where the money would be sent through to Africa. I was looking around the web, and for some reason, I just felt drawn to Blood Water Missions. I am continually amazed by you guys, and I aspire to someday be involved in an organization benefiting Africa as honorable as Blood Water Mission. You are amazing and I will be praying for you all. Thank you so much for taking interest in my case. I'm a huge fan!" - Micaela

Beautiful story. When kids hop on to this it's especially encouraging.

We had an 8 year old girl here in Baltimore raise a few hundo for BWM during our campaign last year and it was one of the best stories we have so far. Her name was Tess.

Good job Micaela!!
